Fundraising

Your PTA donations and volunteer activities support programs that enhance the educational experience for students and provide needed support for Barksdale teachers, staff, and the campus. All of these initiatives are dependent upon financial support from Barksdale parents, members of the community, and local businesses.

Each year, the Barksdale PTA Ways and Means Committee collects the funds needed through a variety of programs

Write-a-Check Campaign

Every student at Barksdale benefits from the Bronco Buddy Write-a-Check Campaign! Team Up and show your support by contributing to the Bronco Buddy Write a Check campaign! The Barksdale Elementary theme for the 2011-2012 school year is Team Up! Be a part of the Barksdale Bronco Buddy team and support the Write-a-Check Campaign.

As a school community, we have been very fortunate over the years in providing a wonderful experience for our children. The commitment and support of all of our families makes this possible. Your participation is reflected in the exceptional education our students receive at Barksdale Elementary. The Bronco Buddy Write-a-Check campaign is the main PTA fundraiser for Barksdale Elementary, enabling the school to offer the previously mentioned programs and more.

These donations are 100% tax deductible and may even be matched by your employer. Be sure to check with your employer’s Human Resources department. A receipt will be sent for your contribution.

Employer Matching Gift Program

Because of our non-profit status, anyone who donates to the Barksdale PTA can submit a form to their employer to ask them to match the amount of their donation to us. The form is usually provided by their company – they just have to submit a copy of their Packet Pickup receipt, or the letter that we send to them thanking them for their donation, and encouraging them to go to their company to request the match.

Here’s a list of companies that are known to have a Matching Gift Program (pdf). It’s not all-inclusive, so companies not on this list may still have a matching program. Please contact our third vice-president of ways & means at ways@barksdalepta.org, for more information.
